NYC Childrens Museum

We decided to head over to the Children's Museum on Monday before we headed home. I heard wonderful things about it so I wanted to check it out. Jonathan just loved the third floor which was geared more for his age group. I wish I would've thought to bring a change of clothes for him because the water play area was open.

Jonathan's first cab ride.

While in NYC Jonathan got his first cab ride! Since we were staying right by 5th ave we needed to find a way to get to the zoo. I asked if we were allowed to take Jonathan in the cab without a car seat and we were told yes. Now usually I would never do that!!! But we thought it would be the best way to get to the zoo rather than us driving. I used my Beco so he was secured to me at all times.
Jonathan petting this lovely sheep!
This was great! Jonathan saying hi to the prairie dog.

Weekend in NYC

It was a nice long holiday weekend so we decided to spend it in the city. We decided that on Saturday we would spend the day at the Bronx zoo! Jonathan just loves animals. He thinks that every animal we saw had the name Jay Jay. ( our dog is named Jay Jay) In the children's section of the Bronx zoo they have a section for just the petting zoo, and this one strange looking animal just loved Jonathan. Which was funny since he didn't seem to fond of him.

One of my favorite parts of the zoo was the butterfly sanctuary! It was just so peaceful and beautiful. Towards the end of the sanctuary was a coy fish pond with huge coy fish. I am hoping that our coy fish one day end up this big! But I am thinking that will take many years.

Late afternoon in the backyard.

Today Jonathan and I had a fun filled day. It started with a 3 1/2 mile run then a fun play date with his friend Aidan! They got to spend the afternoon in the pool which was great since it was so hot outside today. They spent most of the afternoon playing in the pool which was a surprise since Jonathan didn't have a nap!! We finally came home at 3:00p.m. and he took a nice nap until the wonderful phone rang! I then decided to take our new inflatable tunnel outside and play for a little while longer since it was still so nice out. Jonathan still loves to try and eat grass, I think it is a texture thing.

Pool play with Uncle Jason is way Better!

Hey uncle Jason don't splash me!
Splash, splash

Jonathan decided that playing in the pool was fun with his uncle! I just couldn't get his swim trunks back on him since they were wet!!! I let him swim in his little swimmers which was just fine. He thought his uncle was so much fun in the pool. I had a hard time at the end getting him out of the pool. So now which is May 21st he loves the pool! We spent the day today in the pool with friends and he is a little fish!!

Open play at Gymboree

Aunt Jamie helping Jonathan up the ramp.
Hi Mom!

So I realize that this post is a tad bit late! But I have been such a busy bee with family. While in Pensacola still I went back to the Gymboree for open play. There was just one other little child there and it was this cute little girl who really took a liking to Jonathan. This time around my sister Jamie met me and Jonathan and Jason at the mall for the play date.

Trying to love on his uncle Jason with out any luck!!
Jonathan found that Grandma's house isn't childproof!!

Quality time with Uncle Jason.

Now that Jonathan is a little older he loves to follow his uncle Jason around. He thinks he is the greatest person, besides his mom of course! I have never seen Jonathan laugh so hard before. Jason would act like a silly little goose and that was all it took to crack Jonathan up. Everyday at 2:30 p.m. Jason would get home from school and Jonathan would be right there waiting by the door. It was just a great sight to see. He really loves his uncle Jason!
